Our Troop has already begun going "all digital" on requirements and blue cards. Printed backups are still recommended - and blue cards will still be available to any scout who wants to finish off their scouting career collecting all their blue cards, but the source of record is Scoutbook.
Simple guide to who enters what in Scoutbook:
Requirements for Rank Advancement - parents enter after leadership physically signs scout's physical Scoutbook.
Merit badge requirements - Merit Badge Counselors within the troop will enter the record into Scoutbook, outside the troop if the scout receives a Blue Card it will be submitted to the Advancements Chair for entry this also includes Summer Camp.
Hiking activities - if with troop, troop will record. If outside troop activities, Parent will enter. Both scenarios need to be entered by scout into physical Scoutbook log.
Camping activities - if with troop, troop will record. If outside troop activities, Parent will enter. Both scenarios need to be entered by scout into physical Scoutbook log.
Service activities - if with troop, troop will record. If outside troop activities, Parent will enter. Both scenarios need to be entered by scout into physical Scoutbook log.
