About The Troop

Our Charter Organization

Our pack is chartered by the great folks at the Rotary Club of Sparks Centennial Sunrise.

The Rotary Club of Sparks Centennial Sunrise was chartered on February 23, 2005 with 33 charter members.  Our club was sponsored by all the Area Eight (Reno/Sparks) Rotary clubs and owes its existence to the work of Past President Scott Barnes, Past President David Read (Sparks Downtown) and Past President Vicki Puliz (Sparks Downtown).

Our Adventures and Activities

Our troop goes on several hikes throughout the year.  Check the events page for the next one!

Summer Camp

Join in the fun with our annual summer camp. The scouts choose a new summer camp location each year.  Some of our favorites include Camp Fleischmann, Camp Winton, Camp Marin, and Camp Merriweather in Oregon.  Ask us for more information.

Monthly Troop Campouts

Our favorite troop adventures are the many troop campouts  that are held in one of the many wonderful camping locations near us.  The scouts choose our locations each month.

Our pack volunteers several times per year to clean parks, volunteer at the food bank, visit with senior citizens, help our local schools, and to honor our veterans and first responders.  We also helped the Nevada Bighorn Unlimited in building a guzzler.

This bi-weekly meeting is where the learning, singing, laughing, and playing happens.  We teach valuable skills to the scouts while keeping it fun.

Fishing Trips

The Truckee River flows through our area and brings with it many great fishing opportunities.  Be sure to join us on our next fishing trip.

Canoeing

Our pack volunteers several times per year to clean parks, volunteer at the food bank, visit with senior citizens, help our local schools, and to honor our veterans and first responders.

Fun Activities

Each year, the scouts choose several fun activities.  This last year, we have participated in rock climbing, snow skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, river rafting, motorboating.

Klondike Derby

We also participate in the annual Klondike campout each February.  We are the 2-time Zephyr District Champions.

Why Scouts BSA?

Scouting is about adventure and service.  Scouts start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts the scouts in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.

Come and join us at one of our meetings!
